DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN ROMANIA – BUCHAREST (15 KM)
Arrive in Bucharest, transfer to our hotel. In afternoon we include a panoramic tour of Bucharest, highlights of which include Old Town and the Palace of the Parliament. Overnight in Bucharest.
DAY 2: BUCHAREST – SINAIA – BRAN – SIGHSIARA (330 KM)
After breakfast we’ll experience great scenic beauty of Romania, travelling to Transylvania across the Carpathian Mountains and forests. We’ll arrive in Sinaia, where we will stroll in the gardens of the Peles and Pelisor Castles before going on to the 14th-century Bran fortress, known as Dracula’s Castle. Then we’ll continue to Sighisoara, a very beautiful walled medieval city and Heritage Site of Mankind. Tonight, a very special dinner, in the restaurant of Count Dracula, in the house where Vlad Tepes was born. Overnight in Sighsoara.
DAY 3: SIGHSOARA – SIBIU – HUNEDOARA – TIMISOARA (390 KM)
After breakfast we travel to Timisoara. In Transylvania there are numerous fortified churches in areas that were inhabited by people of German origin; some of these churches have been declared Heritage of Mankind, and we will see one of them: Biertan. After this, we’ll go on to Sibiu, an important economic and cultural center that was the capital of Transylvania, with its bustling narrow streets and squares. In the afternoon, we visit the impressive castle of Hunedoara, which is considered the prettiest castle in Romania. We go on to Timisoara, with time for a stroll in its elegant central squares. Overnight in Timisoara.
DAY 4: TIMISOARA – BELGRADE (150 KM)
After breakfast we will drive to Serbia. After 3 hours drive, we’ll cross the board and come to Belgrade, where we’ll introduce ourselves to its rich history with a panoramic tour of this active capital on the shores of the Danube as it flows into the Sava, where we can admire its busy center, its parliament, and stroll in the Kalemegdan fortress. The afternoon is free for you to explore on your own. Overnight in Belgrade.
DAY 5: BELGRADE – SARAJEVO (295 KM)
After breakfast we cross through enchanting forests and scenery as we make our way to Sarajevo. Learn about its grand history with a panoramic tour with a local guide, learning about its strong Turkish influence on its mosques, madrasahs, and busy bazaars. We will also see the Tunnel of Life that saved the city during the Serbian siege. Overnight in Sarajevo.
DAY 6: SARAJEVO – MOSTAR – DUBROVNIK (270 KM)
As the Serbia portion of our tour comes to an end, we’ll encounter the tiny but lovely country of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Discover beautiful landscapes on our way to Mostar, crossing deep valleys and see its gorgeous historic center and its stone bridge which separates the Orthodox, Muslim and Catholic communities. After lunch, we will continue our trip to Kravica, stopping at its magnificent waterfall. Then we’ll begin our Croatia tour, crossing the border and arriving in Dubrovnik at the end of the day. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
DAY 7: DUBROVNIK
Explore this historic city that has been the backdrop for multiple films and tv-shows, including Leonardo Dicaprio’s Robin Hood, Emerald City, Game of Thrones, and Star Wars the Last Jedi. We’ll travel with a local guide to visit the perfectly preserved historic center of this walled city, a jewel of the world’s architectural heritage. This visit includes a tour of the Franciscan Monastery which holds Europe’s oldest pharmacy; Dubrovnik Cathedral and Sponza Palace. We also include a cable car trip that will allow us to enjoy a wonderful vista of the city and its neighboring islands. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
DAY 8: DUBROVNIK – KOTOR – TIRANA (295 KM)
We set off early for Montenegro. After passing immigration at the border, we’ll take the scenic coastal route to the Bay of Kotor. Time for a stroll in the beautiful walled town of Kotor with its strong Venetian influence. After this we stop in Sveti Stefan, a walled village surrounded by the sea. Then we travel to Albania. Following border control, we’ll drive to Tirana, the capital of Albania. Overnight in Tirana.
DAY 9: TIRANA – TIRANA AIRPORT (17 KM)
In the morning, enjoy an included panoramic tour of Tirana, the capital of Albania, with its mosques, clock tower, and ministries and then we will transfer to the Airport. End of our services.
